HI Experts,
I have a requirement from the client for conversion of .txt files to .xml files as they think they have some structural issues with .txt files . So just want to know what should be plan of action . and what can be tha\e consequences of the same.
ONE THING TO NOTE IS THAT THE PROJECT IS ALREADY LIVE AND ALL THE SCENARIOS ARE ALREADY WORKING FINE WITH \.TXT FILES TO IDOC CONVERSION.
REGARDS
SARAS JAIN
makeit<filename> .xml inf file adapter setting rather than filename .txt which set currenlty.

HI,
As explained by bhavesh , if you have the .xml file then no need to have the FCC.

HI,
As explained above if you are receiveing the .xml files you would have to change the sender file adapter file names :.xml from .txt..
and you should change the txt file to xml file by manually or by using some interface or by some tools..
First you would have to take the structure of .txt files and does the same structure and occurrences are followed in the structure or not.. and you would have to take record set, record structure, occurrences and size of the input file...
-- Are they using the FTP or not..
-- Is there any need of IDoc packaging..etc.. if receiving system is R3(IDoc)..
Please see the below links for file content conversion..

Saras Jain,

You can use File Content Conversion in File adapter for achieving this.
FIle-IDOC, you said it is live. Do you need to convert the input txt file to input XML now? If so, you will have 2 different scenarios, the first one is file-file and the next one is is file(xml) to IDOC.

Saras,
What exactly is your question? Can you give us more details on what you want?

Saras,
No Capitals please. FYI, typing in capitals is equiavlent to shouting at people on the Internet.
Regarding your question, if the client wants to move to XML files,
1. Confirm if the XML file is going to be of the format in which the datatype already has been created in XI, i.e the output of content conversion should be the input XML files format.
if yes for 1 then just make the chaange in your sender file adapters to remove content conversion and things will work fine.
if the XML format is going to be different to the source datatype, you will be looking at readoing the entire scenarios all over again including the design.

Bhavesh
