Post project evaluation

Hi All,

I am working on a beginning phase of a project typically IM-PS scenario and not having a direct interaction with client. But broadly can anyone share what is meant by "post project evaluation" after we close the project.

I feel they want standard reportings for PS. But your understanding and inputs will help me go forward.

Hi,

I am pasting detailed information which was taken from PMP for your review and information.

"In your postproject evaluations (sometimes called postmortems), you will want to document in writing which methods worked and why. You will be able to look at how tasks were completed, and determine whether the best methods were used. If the process was one that the team found to be effective, you will want to carefully review the process so that it can be duplicated in future projects. If a task was accomplished but the method could have been improved upon, you will want to list exactly what aspects of this process should be analyzed and revamped for future projects. Determine why the revised method would be more effective and what the implications would be if you used it on the next project."

Generally these kind of analysis will be carried out by specialists in the business for process improvement which involves from various departments as stake holders to gather information, review and analyse what went wrong or PDCA cycle or there are so many methodologies being applied to derive correct process methods.

Reports are nothing to do with above and its purely process based analysis.

I am not sure how you are being affected by those process in your clients senarios

Thanks,

Sudhakar
