Hi All
I am trying to install NW Mobile 7.1 on a Windows 2008 Enterprise Edition server.
The DB is MS SQL 2005 server which has been successfully installed using the SQL4SAP script.
When I ran the pre-requisites checker, the result shows that the OS is not supported and that it only supports Windows 2003 Server.
This is in conflict with PAM on the SMP which shows the availability for Windows 2008 Server, MS SQL 2005 for x86 64-bit.
The material DVD numbers that have been downloaded are correct and as below-
1. 51033237 - NW PI 7.1 / NW AS ABAP 7.1 Installation Export
2. 51033240_39 - NW PI 7.1/ NW AS ABAP 7.1 Installation Master x64 Windows MS SQL Server
3. 51033247_part01 - Nw 7.1 Kernel 7.1 Windows (x86) x86_64 1/9
4. 51033267 - SAP NW Mobile 7.1 SP04 Mobile Client
5. 51036539_part01 - RDBMS MS SQL 2005 SP3 V6.
The SAPinst that is available is of 2007 version with patch level 80. It supports only Windows NT versions of the OS.
Please let me know how to fix this and proceed with the installation.
Also, is it feasible to continue with the installation with the same SAPinst if there is no other option?
Thanks
PHANINDRA.
Hi Graham
I have downloaded and used a new Pre-requisites checker along with a new version of SAP inst.
The pre-requisites check is successful with the new .xml file though it says Language version should be English.
I have carried on with the new SAPinst available on the Marketplace.
It seems to have run into errors though.

The system is unable to find SAPCAR file even though it is present in the folder given here.
i have also manually extracted the SAPHOSTAGENT.sar file but the installation is unable to continue further.
Please advise what has to be done for the continuation of the installation.

Hi Phani,
this can be things like spaces in the directory name. Can you check that.
You could ignore this error and install the host agent later.
If you can't ignore the error, restart the sapinst gui from a command prompt with the option:
SKIP_ERROR_STEP=true
so that it bypasses the error.

Hi PHANINDRA,
The pre-requisites checker is usually right, but I would recommend that you download the latest pre-requisite checker XML file and re-run this phase. Also check that you have selected the correct installation as this looks like a developer workplace installation - is that what you intended to install? If the checker still fails, then you can try and carry on, but you do so at your own risk.
Regards,
Graham
