LiveCache 7.9 MaxDB post activities

Former Member

Hello,

I'm installing SAP SCM 7.0 EHP2 / LiveCache OneDB with MaxDB.

After that, I will "activate" LiveCache in the relevant client.

1/ Are the post-installation activities described in SAP LiveCache Install Guide have to be done with a user with a special role assigned ? (

SAP_BC_LVC_SUPERUSER.). It only talks about DDIC user without any special role.

Is there others activities to do?

2/ Is it possible to create several clients in the system? Or only one for LiveCache?

Regards

Hello,

1. Please list the activities, which you gave reference to.

When you installed new system you have SAP* & DDIC users. As DDIC user could run the recommended post activities. Later, you could create a copy of SAP* user and give it the

SAP_BC_LVC_SUPERUSER authorization to do the DB administration on system, for example.

2. " Is it possible to create several clients in the system?"

     - Yes.

     "Or only one for LiveCache?"

     - You could have more as one liveCache relevant clients as well.

Hi,

thanks for your answer.

One more question about SCM installation.

I thought that APO was installed with SCM 7.02?

But some RFC were created (OPTSERVER_XXX) and these one don't work because SCM Optimizer (=APO?????) is not reachable.

Is it mandatory to install SCM Optimize (APO????)?

Hello,

1.

"I thought that APO was installed with SCM 7.02?"

Is it statement or question?

After you installed the SCM 7.02 system you could run the APO functionality after the post-installation steps will be done as well.

2.

"But some RFC were created (OPTSERVER_XXX) and these one don't work because SCM Optimizer (=APO?????) is not reachable.

Is it mandatory to install SCM Optimize (APO????)?"

If you planning to run the SCM Optimizers on your SCM system, the SCM optimizers need to be installed. Currently you have the Optimizers RFC connections with default settings.

Hello,

thanks for your answer.

It seems that it will be necessary to activate BW in order to maintain an history of data loading.

If I have only one client in my system for LiveCache, is it possible to use the same client for BW?

Regards

Thanks

Furthermore, If I can use only one Client for both, what are the steps to configure BW to be connected to APO?

Hi Natalia,

thanks for your answer.

My question was not about SAP Client creation but just about how to activate BW on same client as LiveCache.

Do I only need to launch RSA1 and activate? Are there others steps to process in order to activate basic BW functions?

Regards.
