2 Solman landscape: SLD, LMDB configuration

Hello solman experts,

we currently use Solution Manager 7.1 SP7 with local SLD and LMDB.

Now we consider to install a second Solution Manager system as Test/DEV system.

Do we need second SLD and LMDB or should we connect the new Test/DEV system to the existing SLD and LMDB of productive solman system?

What are the pros and cons?

Hi Alex,

I suggest you setup a bridge from PRD to DEV to replicate your systems to the local SLD.

LMDB is needed for functionality.

Connecting the DEV system to your productive SLD would be a bad idea, as it is your leading SLD in your landscape.

I think we will set up 2 SLD and 2 LMDB for our 2 SOLMAN landscape.

I forgot to say that we make a system copy from productive SOLMAN to DEV SOLMAN.

If necessary we can then establish a bridge connection from productive SLD to SLD of DEV SOLMAN.
