Alerts Configuration to mail box.

Hi,

I have defined an alert rule using ALRTCATDEF, and when i test that using repost RSALRTTEST, i could see the alert generated and see in RWB alertinbox.

But even configuring to the email server, i couldnt get any emails to the inbox of configured email.

Could you please let me know in troubleshooting such errors.

Hi Sai,

Ask your PI Admin/Basis team to check if the configurations are maintained properly in order to get mail to your mail server  Configure SAPConnect (SCOT) and SOST.

To do this, use tcode SCOT and in the window that appears, check the details for SMTP.

If the mail is in waiting state, then the problem is beacuse of SCOT. If it says COMPLETED, then there is some problem in your configuration.

Also check if the user ID mentioned in the fixed recepients is correct and check below links..

Hello Sai,

 

1. Crosscheck your configuration settings as per Pravesh's blog..

/people/pravesh.sharma/blog/2009/07/02/configuration-for-forwarding-alerts-as-emails

2. Use Tcode: SU01 to check the e-mail address maintained in your profile.

3. Confirm from Basis guys for Mail service and Exchange Server are having correct setup.

I suggest you to search SDN on this topic ...

However have you checked the email id configured for the user profile created ?

Check the SOST transaction for the path...

Hai Rajesh,

Have searched in SDN, i found documents step by step creation of alerts, those documents are explained in creating alert category.

But after creating alert category when i test using RSALRTTEST, the alert should reach to inbox for the email configured in fixed receipnts,

In SOST transaction i see the error as (Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final))

NOTE: this is a fresh PI installation and this is the first alert category i am testing, i want to know scot settings and any anothers settings to be changed. i have domain name and port of my email server.
