Hi

I understand that AS ABAP and AS JAVA can be installed on the same host as separate instances with unique SID's.

Is this correct?

I plan to install my database, SAP MaxDb,  on the same host. I guess SAP MAxDb will be installed twice for the separate instances.

Thanks

A.S.

Hi,

In this scenario, The SAP MaxDb software  will be installed once but the  2 separate Databases will be created for each instance.

Could you tell us which version of SAP do you plan to install ?

Hi Abu,

Since you want to install SAP NW 7.01 EHP1 ABAP and JAVA, you will be required to install 2 instances of MAxDB database. MCOD SAP installations are no more supported.

So on your server MaxDB will be installed twice (1) ABAP (2) JAVA.

Incase it is test system you may install both ABAP and JAVA on single database instance. For this you need to first install ABAP system with <SID>.

While performing JAVA installation you need to select the same database <SID>.

In the test system scenario, would that be a dual stack (ABAP+JAVA) installation or separate ABAP, JAVA installations but on the same DB instance.

Sorry if this is confusing!
