How to find SQL management studio after installing SQL server 2008 express edition

Dear Experts,

May be this thread not related to SAP B1.

How to find SQL management studio after installing SQL server 2008 express edition?

OR

how to download and match with installed SQL server?

Please help.

Dear Sir,

I am facing same problem,

not able to see management studio, i have installed SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition.

I gone throw above discussion.

I have downloaded sql server versions from above given links,

But still giving compatible error as below,

Hi NagaRajan...

If you have the original installer disc of your SQL Server, install it from there.

It is not installed by default. you need to install the tools.

The links posted above are for express edition which is a free edition, but have several limitation.

To learn more about the limitation see here.

One thing missing from the express edition that is quite usefull is the SQL profiler.

You required to install separately  SQL Server Management Studio.. You can download from the link..

Hi,

Thanks for reply.

Before that, i have installed three times SQL server in my machine and it creates 3 instance namely MSSQLServer, SQLexpress, SQLepxess2, SQLexpress3.

How to remove it? or is it affect dowloading of SQL management studio?How to located correct server for installing management studio?

How to find whether tools installed in my system?

Hi Naga Rajan...

To uninstall an instance of SQL Server on Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 Operating Systems

  1. To begin the uninstall process, from the Start menu, click Control Panel, and then double-click Program and Features.
  2. Select the SQL Server component to uninstall, and then click Uninstall. This starts the SQL Server Installation Wizard.
  3. Setup Support Rules runs to verify your computer configuration. To continue, click OK.
  4. On the Select Instance page, use the drop-down box to specify an instance of SQL Server to remove, or specify the option to remove only the SQL Server shared features and management tools. To continue, click Next.
  5. On the Select Features page, specify the features to remove from the specified instance of SQL Server. 
  6. Removal rules runs to verify that the operation can complete successfully.
  7. On the Ready to Uninstall page, review the list of components and features that will be uninstalled. 
  8. The Setup Progress page displays Setup status.
  9. On the Completing Setup page, click Close to exit the Installation Wizard.
  10. Repeat steps 2-9 until all SQL Server 2012 components have been removed.

2. Before removing, i  want to locate which SQL server running for SAP. How to locate?

Hi,

So i need to uninstall SAP and SQL server again?

My purpose is, to check and excute some stored procedure, that requires management studio.

Any other way ( without fresh installation) to get this?

just install management studio no issue with the multiple instance..
