Hello,
I get confused by a SAP consultant. To my knowledge there is only one version of WAS 6.2. He thinks there is a version WAS 6.2 for Enterprise and a WAS 6.2 version for NetWeaver. Anybody heard about that?
Alex
Hi,
A detailed description on the architecture of WAS and its history is available at the link
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/webas/introduction to the sap web application server
Please check it, it will solve all your confusions.

Siddhesh

As per the document that i have mentioned in the earlier post, there have been 3 versions of WAS.
WAS 6.2, WAS 6.3 and finally WAS 6.4
However WAS 6.3 was never out as a seperate release. It was included in the Basis support packs.
Finally they came out with WAS 6.4 which is Netweaver04.
There is no WAS 6.2 for Netweaver.

Hi Alex,
It is the same SAP Web AS 6.20 that is in SAP R/3 Enterprise and SAP NetWeaver (pre-SAP NetWeaver '04). Same maintenance, same SPs, etc.
Note: The SAP Web AS release in SAP NetWeaver '04 is SAP Web AS 6.40.
Regards,
Mike.
