MRO material naming

MRO Naming Convention

Hello - I am trying to find out the best way to name MRO materials and provide descriptions.  As MRO materials require a bit more description/detail than normal materials.  Are there any best practice or standard naming conventions to follow?

What I understand from your qs is that you are looking for a material coding method as description can be anything you like.

There are numerous other links on this material codification which can be used for MRO as well. One simple way would be to attach the material group name with a code provided you have different material groups for different MRO supplies.

Like 512-001234567: where

512- Material group for a MRO material like uniform.

001234567- Some sequence.

You have 18 characters in ECC to play with.
