Hi Friends,

my client is facing problem:- user is manually entering the external ID but it is overwritten by Inbound delivery number.

report that information in transaction code vt02n, check in, external ID number is not kept in the system. That ID number is overwritten by the automatic inbound delivery number. The consequence is the bookkepping cannot compare the invoice from the supplier witht he information in SAP.

it seems that this happens by IMHU LM00 program.

The document No is entered manually on arrival wagon,

but is automatically overwritten by the inbound delivery No

Please help in fixing the problem

Hi Friends,

I have requested my client to replicate the issue external ID overwritten by inbound delivery number in quality environment. but they are not geting the problem .manually entered external ID is not overwriten by Inbound delivery number. so it is ok here

Purchase order =47013xxxxx for plant 5xxx with material to be received in storage location IMHU

Inbound delivery = 203229xxx

Shipment = 0002703xxxx

External ID (manually entered in shipment) = IN12605500

Updated ok in delivery (Header / tab administration)

Updated ok in the Purch order (item level)

All steps completed in shipment and delivery till good receipt of the material and External ID remain OK in the delivery and PO.

But in production only problem exsists. there external ID is overwritten by Inbound delivery number.

Purchase order = 4701326961

Inbound del = 203609046 but here the External ID field has been overwritten by the deliv. Number with 0 in front.

Also in the corresponding Shipment 0002146xxx – External ID field has been overwritten with the shipment number without zero.

which action is triggering this external ID field to be overwritten in shipment & delivery.  

For the same purchase order = 4701326961 – there’s another delivery / shipment not fully processed yet for which the external ID are still OK.

in problem delivery created by field is BATCHEU & in good example it is giving some  created persons user ID. Please help me further. -which action is triggering this external ID field to be overwritten in shipment & delivery.

Hi Friends,

Business is creating PO manually and inbound and Shipment is created by BATCHEU.

When truck arrives the loading house the person responsible will do manual updation of shipment  by inputting delivery note reference from the supplier in the external ID field.

So once Gate house saved the shipment  external ID is automatically copied into the corresponding Inbound delivery (in Header/Administration Tab)

So later in the process external ID is overwritten with Inbound Delivery number by BATCHEU. But in shipment the problem is not there. It is only showing External ID number only. The problem taking place only in delivery.

Also we tried with the user in replicating this scenario is Quality but the problem of overwritten is not taking place in Quality..

hi Ramesh,

You can try identifying the batch job with the fact that you identified the batch user. try to figure out if there are any custom programs/BDC to update.
