Best practice documentation for installing SAP GUI 7.3 in a Citrix XenApp 6.5 environment

Since rolling out Citrix XenApp, our users have experienced numerous problems when frontend printing from SAPGUI 7.1. Print jobs are intermittently ending up at the wrong printer or disappearing into the ether. When this happens SAPLPD does not appear to launch. SAP GUI 7.1 is installed on the server. We suspect that we have not configured out Citrix environment correctly to support multiuser frontend printing with SAPLPD. Our intention is to upgrade to SAPGUI 7.3 shortly and I am keen to locate some best practice documentation for implementing SAPGUI 7.3 in Citrix XenApp 6.5. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Hello Peter,

There is a very helpfull pdf file attached to note 431163 which I've linked here.

http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/431163

It's headed 7.10 best practice, but it also applies to 7.20/7.30 too.

The printing section should help you.

Hi Jude, we had already located the 7.10 best practice document. Thankyou for confirming that it also applies to 7.30.

Thanks Peter,

I looked more into this, and it appears that SAPLPD is not supported anymore.

Instead, Access Method G should be used for Front-end printing.

Note 821519 gives more details.
