Is it necessary to run Start SAP Logon and enter tcode rz70 on the R/3 and set it
up as a supplier to my local SLD. I would like to know if this step is really necessary in order for my JCO Destinations to be supported. Would the JCO Destinations be maintained otherwise? Is this only to collect data on the R/3. In other words can I do without this step and just define the R/3 as a technical system in my local SLD and my JCO Dest/Connections will work?
Hi,
It worked for me without RZ70.
Just webDynpro Content Administrator and SLD - only manual configuration.
But why you do not what to use RZ70 ? With RZ70 the data suppliers automatically report information to the SLD.
Kind Regards, Jack

For JCo to work:
Need to define R/3 system in SLD.
Need to map r/3 user with portal user or use SSO.
Need to define Logon Group in R/3 using transaction SMLG
