Solman 7.1 Sp5 Creating a location field on WebGUI

Hi,

We recently upgraded from 7.0 to 7.1 sp5 and we used the subject field as a location, i.e. Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg field. And we don't have this option now in 7.1.

Does anyone have a guide on how to create custom fields?  How do I give this custom field detail through to our BW team for reporting?
