MvT in outbound delivery

Hello Experts

Movement type in outbound delivery differs than that was assigned to the schedule line category on VOV6. so please anyone can tell me how system propose this MvT in outbound delivery?

I find it very strange that there is a difference in movement type at sales order and delivery level!

Why did your company go for a different item category, in order to determine a different schedule line category with movement type 653. So that the movement type would have been identical "throughout the process" (i.e. in sales order and delivery). This would be the correct way and would have not involved any coding!

Also, with the help of coding in this userexit, why did your company not change the movt type in the sales order level?

(why have different movt. types in sales order and delivery?)

Hello Amr,

In addition to what Shiva said.  Please check the MRP type of the Material master.

Generally, Schedule line category is determined based on Item category+MRP type. And from the Schedule line category movement type is determined as Shiva said.

1) Please check if there was change in the Item category. If not,

2) Please check the MRP type. There might be diff. schedule line category linked to Item categ+MRP type.

Generally, the second case would not happen. Because mostly one Item category would be linked to a schedule line categories with the same movement type.

Please share the outcome.

You are correct, the movement type is derived from schedule line category. If the movement type changes than the expected one, then check in sales order whether the item category has been changed by the user/or by user exit or not.

No change occurs in sales order, The system determine correctly schdule line DN whose MvT 651. but in Adminstration tab on outbound Delivery it is 653.

Can you please check if there were changes to Schedule line category after Delivery was created(Movement type altered in Sch. category after Delivery created).

Because, the movement type assigned in Schedule line category should flow in the Delivery. Which should work for sure.

If this is happening in any new Sales Orders/Delivery being created. Can you please check if the Schedule line category in Procurement tab of the Sales Order and the one in Schedule line category is different.

Ideally this will be same everytime. But just wanted to confirm.

Really strange. Can you please check if there are inconsistenices in table TVEP. Is TVEP still show 651 or 653.

The movement types 651 and 653 are used for posting the stock returns and do you have these movement types in the Outbound delivery? Are you processing a stock return? OR a sales order and outbound delivery process?

Please ask your abaper to debug and check if there is any enhancement in the delivery user exits. Based on the materials, the movement type might be getting changed automatically to post the return stock to Unrestricted stock as the movement type 651 posts stock to Restricted Stock and 653 posts stock to Unrestricted stock. This is just a pointer for your analysis.

Are you indicating to check the CRs (that were moved to PRD environment)?

Actually AMR reported, he can find movement type determined as 653 in the delivery. Which should have been 651 assigned to Sch. category DN.

Just to confirm, there was no change in movement type assigned to Schedule line category DN. Requestd to verify if there were any CRs moved to prod.
