No Visual Composer Server was found at specified addresss

I am getting this error when navigating to http://<server>:<port>/VC:

1. How do I fix the "Error reading ~version.ini file: Invalid at the top level of the document, line 1"?
2. I noticed that com.sap.visualcomposer system info is null.  Why would that be?

Hi Neil,

Normally this error is a problem of missing components in your installation. The 'null' you see seems to be normal - I can see the same in my internal installation. The following packages for VC should be installed:

VCBASE

VCFLEX

VCFRAMEWORK

VCKITBI

VCKITGP

VCKITXX

This should be all.

Hi Anja,

So you are saying that my install on the server side is correct?

Is there anything that needs to be done on the client side?

Do you know of any logs and their locations that would point me in the right direction?

Hi Neil,

i got the same error like you for a Netweaver 7.01 SP8 (on SLES11 with ORacle11) when using InternetExplorer 9

i can access the Visual Composer with Firefox and used Addon IE-tab - so looks like an issue with the browser(settings). Maybe you can try this. But I'm also searching for a solution with IE.

I just checked the PAM - you need an (old) IE-version 7 or 8 to access the Visual Composer with your Netweaver Release - you need at least SP9 for a supported IE9

I ended up using IETab for Chrome and Visual Composer works perfectly.
