Shipment Block vs Delivery Block

Hi Experts,

Could you please let me know the difference between the Shipment Block (enforced via Shipment Blocking Reason in Shipment tab of Delivery Header in VL01N) and the Delivery Block (enforced via Delivery Block in Administration tab of Delivery Header in VL01N)?

I cannot really understand when to use each as both seem to block packing deliveries to shipments.

Many thanks in advance.

Rgds

HI.

The delivery blocking means it will not allow to save the delivery from the STO or from the sales order if the block is activated.

Shipment blocks come into picture if the shipment process is involved.

Normally in the shipment process goods issue been done by shipment only and in normal delivery process you need to do PGI in delivery itself.

so in a nutshell

Delivery block ; will not allow you to save the delivery

Shipment block: will not allow you to initiate goods movement.
