SEPA Pain File Size limitations

Former Member

Dear Experts;

We are implementing SEPA PAIN001 and PAIN008 version file format for SDD and SCT.

We have a requirement that the file size should not be greater than 50 MB.

Can anyone guide me how we can limit the size of the pain files?

regards;

Sagar

Hi Sagar,

I am not very sure whether its possible to control the size of PAIN files through coding or not.

However, if you want to control the number of records that you insert in PAIN files, that can be done through coding.

If we estimate that, say, inserting 100 records in PAIN001(for Credit Transfer) file and 200 records in PAIN008(for Direct Debit) file takes around 50 MB space each, then we can split the PAIN files on the basis of the number of records than on the basis of its size.

If you want to go by this approach, then you can plug in custom FM in transaction FQP3 under the payment medium for SEPA DD and SEPA CT.

Hope it helps...

Thanks,

Amlan
