Attaching External Documents to Engineering Record

Hello Experts,

Is there a way to attach external documents to engineering record. Similar functionality as that in Change Master.

How do you handle these documents?

Any suggestions would be great.

Hi,

yes, currently there is only the possibility to work with Document Info Records.

We currently are discussing an improvement in PLM Web UI Customer Connection that would allow to automatically create DIRs in the background and hence enabling a simple file upload as "attachment".

Thank you for the reply.

Is it possible via customization to have the GOS objects enabled in the ER Screen.

So that it can work the same way as that in ECC.

You should be able to assign a DIR (document info record) in the document tab and in this DIR you should be able upload any document.

Yes, I do agree with you of attaching the documents in the document tab. But I want to attach some external documents as reference which are not in the the DMS system.

In ECC we can attach using GOS objects , is there anything similar.
