Header material is not getting assigned on activity thru CN33.

Hi All,

I am trying to assign material on activities thru BOM-PS transfer (CN33) and also want to do assembly thru network ( as i do not want go thru production process in PP), I have created a BOM for item A (main item) , where item B,C and D are its sub component . I have created four activities in projects and defined reference point in each activity and BOM components. Now i opened transaction CN33 , i clicked on "transfer button" ( 3rd for the  left at the top) here i entered project definition , header material (i.e A) and reference point . Now i am running CN33 , system is succesfuly assigning component B,C and D to the activities but item A is not getting assigned on the activity , but as fas as i know logically header material i.e A should have also got assigned on the activity with negative quantity.    

Please suggest why header material is not getting assigned on the activity.

Dear Akhil,

BOM transfer only assign component of BOM not header material with -ve quantity.

you have to assign this manually with -ve quantity. so this will get generated (Auto GR in project stock while confirmation and goods movement via 581 Q ).

In transfer section, are you entering plant also?

Yes , i have entered plant also but it is not working.I have checked all the settings and it seems to be all fine but can't guess what  is going wrong.

IN 'transfer control', also mention the WBS element alongwith Project definition.

Then you try again.

Also try selecting ' all items' flag in selection parameters.

It should work.

Please mention single reference point (same which you assigned in transfer control) for all BOM components or remove the reference point from each BOM component.

I tried what u have suggested but only sub components are getting assigned and not the header item.
