Hello All,

I have my SAP Running on SUSE Linux,My desktop is on Windows.

I have configured Front end printer it is working fine and is generating spool request and i am able to print the desired output.

Now we need to configure  the new  network printer which is IP based, i am able to ping the ip address from my sap server host.

I have created a new Printer in SPAD with access method as

S: Print Using SAP Protocol

Host printer : _Default

Destination host : My printer ip address and port.

When i save and test the connection it say " Remote host spool system available " .

Since i am doing it for the first time am i right with all the configurations, my SAP is on Linux and GUI is on windows am i using the correct access method

" S " or should i use " U ".

when i do a print it is generating the spool request but with an error " Output device unavailable "

in Logs

  SAP spool error log
  =====================

Print request processing log

The host spool is reporting errors

(SAP)LPD cannot accept request (Queue __DEFAULT disabled?)

Unable to connect to output processor

please Help me in moving forward

Thanks in Advance ,

Vardhan.

Hi Vardhan,

You may do the following.

1) Install the network printer onto your desktop/laptop.

2) Make this printer a default printer

3) In SPAD , define a frontend Printer using type F or G.

4) You can test the printing from SAP.

Hope this helps.

Hi Deepak Kori

Thanks for your reply

Front end printing is working using access method F and G.

We need to use this access method S or U.

As my SAP servers and printer  , me are in  two different countries.

we don't want to install printer driver on every users Desktop/Laptops.

My SAP is running on Linux and My GUI on Windows am i using the  correct access method  S please confirm

Thanks,

Vardhan.

My issue got resolved

All My configurations were correct.

to generate the correct output we also need to check

.1.  Default printer configured on spool server is the same printer we are using over network or not if       you have two different printers (*in my case)

2. For Further logs check C:\Program Files \SAP\SAPSPrint\Logs directory on spool server (*On windows)

Thanks,

Vardhan.
