Please let us know on how to proceed. I have tried finding this error in SMP also, but didnt get any help over there.

We are running SAP Server on Oracle 11.2.0.3 DB and Windows Server 2008 R2 OS.

Thanks,

Hi,

According to "Function WriteFile() failed for '/dev/nmt0' at location BrTapeCopy-16"

This error cud be becoz of write function in the tape as said by Joseph and re-initialize the tape.

Also what is the hardware tool you are using for backups. Please check if the drives into which tape moved (nmt0) is online or not.

Hi,

It seems that some problem which could be due to tape read/write failure. Please see the lines from your log that states that.

Function WriteFile() failed for '/dev/nmt0' at location BrTapeCopy-16

BR0253E errno 1111: The I/O bus was reset.

Solution : Please try to run once again the BR Backup and check whether it works.  If you are still facing the issue, you can confirm this by taking a offline backup to a local disk.

If you are facing the issue with the TAPE, please try to re-initialize the TAPE and try again

I hope it helps.

Thanks and Regards,

Vimal
