OS Process monitoring

Hi,

I'm trying to activate OS process monitoring for process like icm, webdispatcher sap gateway etc.

Solution manager 7.1 SPS4.

For reference i'm using the document below.

I've configured as described.

I can see the data in Wily as well but somehow the data is not populating in the monitoring dashboard.

Wily.

Is there anything else that should be taken into consideration.

Any advise would be helpful.

All,

This has now been fixed, SAP helped us.

The issue was with the metric limit per action which by default is set to 1000, we've increased it and now we've all the data.

If anyone else has similar issue, please use below.

SMD Agent administration --> Application Configuration --> com.sap.smd.agent.application.wilyhost -->
metric.limit.per.action ( this is the parameter).

Hello Abhishek,

have you check the agent Framework information for host? Please check the information located in solman_workcenter > Solution manager administration > Infrastructure monitoring.

Check the log sapstartsrv_ccms.log, sapstartsrv.log and dev_saphostexec.log located at /usr/sap/hostctrl/work directory at OS level.

At last try to generate your monitoring template.

If All are working fine and still you are not getting the data, follow the troubleshoot link

Hi,

An update on this.

I raised it with SAP and they advised to upgrade Management Module for WILY EM, SAPISMM*.

I did that and the alerts started to flow in to dashboard.

However within Wily for some hosts I don't see SAPOSCOL node and for some it's visible.

Any help will be appreciated?

Have you tried restarting the saphostagent?

Had the same issue last week, solved it for me.

Hi David,

Thanks for the answer.

I did the restart of all the agents the result is still the same.

Out of 40 systems only 15 are reporting "MonitoredProcesses" node.

Create template under "Technical Instance". Dont create template under "Host".

Hi,

refer the sap note Note 1618858 - Grey metrics in Technical System Monitoring UI, given the clue as the issue might be the technical host name not set in the parameters.

I had a look but this note has status "cannot be implemented".

The note however was pointing to grey metrics while reading from BI.

In my case I'm trying to read from Introscope, as I mentioned earlier I can see the data in Wily but not in dashboard.

The document that I used seemed pretty straight forward to use though.

I used the same document and it worked for me. Did you try the do below step and it returned the result as mentioned in the document:
"

Flag the “Use Regular Expression” box. Specify a regular expression in the search field which returns

only the single metric you want to monitor."
