Implementation Project & Maintenance project for ChaRM

Hi,

What is the difference between Implementation & Maintenance Project for ChaRM 7.1 functionality.

- Is ChaRM process remain same for Maintenance Project & Implementation Project ? Except Urgent Change.

- Do we use same Transaction Type for both Maintenance Project & Implementation Project ChaRM process ?

Hi Kumar,

There are some differences but mainly for maintenance projects. The maintenance projects differ from other projects types in a sense that, within a maintenance cycle, it may be necessary to import an important change or correction into the production system as quickly as possible. In this case, a three month cycle for example, would be too long.

So for this kind of projects, there exists the Urgent Correction, which is a change transaction only available in maintenance projects and  enables the immediate transport of changes into the prod system.

This is the most important difference, along with the projects context which generally works in a linear flow except for the maintenance which works more in a recurrent, continuous cycle.
