About authorization of recovery with sap hana studio(sps04 v05)

Hi all

We want to recovery the hana database with hana studio(sps04 v05)

Please tell us which authorization(role,privileges,....) is for recovery.

We read sap hana security guid. but did not find.

Hi Akihiro,

there is no specifc role or system privilege for this.

To be able to perform the recovery you have to provide the <sid>adm logon data instead.

So, although the function is located in a context menu related to a HANA logon it actually doesn't depends on the HANA user - but just to the system administrator account.

Thank you very much.

Please allow me to confim i understand how to revcoery the database.

We have two servers.

one is the HANA database server(linux).

another is for HANA Studio server(windows 2008 r2)

the HANA database server(linux) has the <sid>adm user.

the HANA Studio server(windows 2008 r2) has the Administrator user.

so when we recovery the HANA database with the HANA Studio.

1.We just logon with the Administrator user of HANA Studio server(windows 2008 r2)

2.start the hana stuido.

3.select the system to recovery with the any hana studio user we like.

there's a important point missing:

4. you enter the <sid>adm logon data into the dialog window that got opened after step 3.

BTW: why don't you just try it out? (like I do it...)
