Hello Everyone,

I am working on dual stack in SAP PI 7.31.And I want to configure alerts using CBMA.

Here I have some questions:

I read the below blogs for configuring alerts:

http://scn.sap.com/community/pi-and-soa-middleware/blog/2012/03/25/michals-pi-tips-component-based-m...

http://scn.sap.com/community/pi-and-soa-middleware/blog/2012/05/05/michals-pi-tips-component-based-m...

I just want to know is there any other way also,if i want to work on dual stack...to configure alert in SAP PI 7.31.

Regards,

Sri

Component based message alerting is the way forward and recommended approach. But you also have choice to switch to the classical approach of Alert framework with tcode ALRTCATDEF for creating alert category and setting rules in RWB. For details please check http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/b2/58b14b70744d0db55599230d2c5bce/frameset.htm

Hi,

Component based message alerting can be defined as on java stack and as on abap stack .

as u already refer the michals blog for java stack .

For confutation of CBMA as on abap refer my blog..

Hi Anup,

No you don't need to do both configuration .

Only one configuration is sufficient to trigger the alert .

The difference between them that defining the recipients list and to run the job .Other are same like creating rules and all .

Hello Anup,

Have you used this to create alerts for Communication Channel Errors as well?

Hi,

As name suggest component based message alert,. we can define rule as based on components .

If you select configuration scenario as message header rule then i think you will get alert for adapters also,

If you want to set rule for adapter level (communication channel)  then you can try with sender/receiver agreement on message header rules..

thanks and regards,
