Transporting Roles and Groups in PI Java

Hello,

We have just installed our PI 7.3 (Java stack only) system.

We need to transport few custome Roles to our QA system.

We have CTS+ configured.

We were able to transport ESR and Integration Directory objects using the respective tools. They have 'export' options.

But we are not able to figure out how to create transports for Security Roles and Groups.

I ahve searched on help.sap.com and couldn't find anything.

Your help is much appreciated.

Hi Abhishek,

How far i know you cannot transport UME roles through CTS+

There is only mechanism is of export and import and user management can also used to import portals roles as well with certain limitation.

If i am wrong please correct me.

Hello Reagan,

I went through both the PDFs that you provided.

The first one explains transporting - SLD Obj, ESR  and Integration Builder in detail, but gives no explanation fr Security ROles.

The second pdf is specifically for Portal, we can't see PCD in PI 7.3. SO, thus is not applicable.

So, my question still stands.

Are these Java UME roles? If so, did you try the UME export functionality?

Hello Sandip,

Export option just allows us to Download the Role data in text format on my desktop.

We do not want to use Download Upload option.

We want to Transport them within the system, preferably using CTS+.

I do not think you can transport UME roles using CTS+..But I may be wrong..

Hi Srinivas,

Unfortunately none of the links you have provided are helpful to me.

They are all for transporting "XI Objects" specifically. I have already mentioned that we are able to transport XI objects (ESR adn Integration Directory) successfully.

I need to transport Security Roles and Groups. I am unable transport these like XI Objects with ESR or integration Directory.
