Hi,
I am relatively new to XI and am bit confused with the term JMS (Java messaging services ) adapter. We will use file adapter when we supply data to XI through flat file. Similarly IDOC adapter when the data transfer is from R/3 system.
In the similar lines could you please explain the term JMS and the situation where we will use the same (Whether it is related to Java..........lab la lab la .........??). Any help with real time scenario is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
kumar
Hi Palnati,
Java Message Service(JMS) adapter is used to connect XI to messaging systems like IBM MQseries 5.2, IBM MQseries 5.3 etc... these messaging systems have queues in them in which msgs are there.....through JMS, you connect XI to the queues of these external systems to get or put data in the queues of these systems as messages.
So you can have any external msg server in your scenario, so XI provides a default JMS adapter which you will have to configure yourself and deploy in XI so that XI can communicate with your external msg server with your JMS adapter.
you can follow the below link for configuring the JMS adapter for your scenario:
