hi,
As per the new architecture, we deploy a BIMobileService.war on a Web Application Server (eg Tomcat Apache), which act as a Mobile Server. Why cannot we deploy that .war on a Linux OS with Apache Tomcat running on it?
Regards
Sushant
Hi Sushant,
From 4.0 SP5 onwards, the MobileBIService.war file is deployed with the existing webapps only.
it does not have to be manually deployed from the Mobile14 folder.
Also, as far as 4.0 SP5 is concerned, it should work on linux env also.
check the webapps folder, the MobileBIService folder should be present, if full installation was done

Hi Atul,
We are working on SAP BOE XI3.1 SP5 and in case of a production environment, we are planing to have a dedicated server for BO Mobile. That why we have to deploy the war file manually, and ideally war file is platform independent.
But if you through Mobile Admin Guide for BOE XI 3.1 SP5, it shows only windows platform is supported. Why?

Sushant
Hi Sushant,
If its a 3.1 SP5 version, then i am afraid the mobile sevrver is supported only on windows platform.
It is also, because the binaries needed to work are developed for windows platform only.
they have not been integrated to work on linux system.
As the application server deploys the war file and client connects through the application server itself, it is imperative that the application server ( tomcat ) be on windows to work
