Regarding Availability check

Hi Friends,

we created service order with service material, in sales order system is checking for availability of the material even though availability check is not maintained for that material. Kindly help me in finding the cause of system checking the availabity of material for service item in service order.

Dear Jai,

Please check in OVLY, is there any backward scheduling assignment there for your order type in which you are facing this issue?

Backward Scheduling: If the scheduling has been carried out after the order date.

Forward Scheduling: If any of the delivery date is before the order date system determines forward scheduling.

Lemme know after checking the same.

Excellent...

We checked OVLY and found delivery scheduling and transport schedule are assigned for order type. we removed those checks and created sales order, system is not checking for availability of the material as expected...

Check transaction VOV5 the item category used.

Hi Ammarah,

For the material, MRP 3 view is not maintained and availability check is also not maintained in Sales & General plant view. In VOV6, for the specific schedule line categories

"Availability" option is unchecked only. for both order types plant,distribution channel,itemcatagory and scheduline category are same. and material also same.

  

when we are creating sales order with one order type with delivery date as 01/09(today's date), scheduline date is 01/09 with confirmed quantity as expected.

while creating sales order with other order type with delivery date as 01/09(today's date), scheduline dates are 01/09 with 0 quantity and giving another date as 01/16 with confirmed quantity.

Our question is why system giving 01/16 scheduline date with confirmed quantity for second sales order when all inputs are same. even we make both ordertypes settings as same.

Dear Jai Prabhu,

Let's revise the whole process again. After entering the material in the sale order, if the system is going for availability check automatically then check for Scope of List and see the system is picking what combination. Availability check comes from material master under Sales:General/Plant Data View and Checking Rule comes from MRP 3 view under planning tab 'Strategy Group'. Also, check in VOV6, for the specific schedule line categories 'Availability' option should be unchecked. Further check the assignment in OVZ9.

One more thing lemme know if Schedule Line & Item Category assignment, Plant and Distribution channel is same for both Order types? Revert in case you need more assistance.

Kindly check the settings in OPJK, is availability check maintained for your specific order type there?? Revert after checking the same.

Hi Ammarah,

We are creating normal sales order with order type as service order type(order to billing). In OPJK avilability check is assigned to service order types(EX: SM01) which will be created for repair orders.

our issue is with sales order not with repair orders.

How you come to the conclusion that system is checking for availability? Can you elaborate it. Please refer Siva Vasireddy's comment also.

Hi Vinu,

We are creating service order with delivery date as today's date. system is giving scheduline date as futute date with confirmed quantity. Our issue is when avilability check in not maintained for this service item, then how system is providing scheduline date as future with confirmed quantity.

when we are creating slaes order with another order type(service order type) with same material and plant, then system is not checking for availability of the material and considering todays date as scheduline date with confirmed quantity.

we checked both order types functionality(VOV8), settings are same.

Kindly help on this.

Hi,

   Availability check can also  be  activated at Requirement class level and at Schedule line Level.
