Upgrade from ECC6 EHP4 to EHP6

Dear Experts,

My current system  SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4 

SAP_ABA             701         0008

SAP_BASIS          701         0008

SAP_APPL           604         0009

EA-APPL               604         0009

Now we want to upgrade from EHP4 to EHP6  we also have

53006458                          SAP  Netweaver 7.0 EHP3   etc   also have

53006114   set -                SAP ERP 6.0 SAP EHP6

51040246                          SAP Enh. Package 6 for sap ERP 6.0

51041989                          SAP ERP 6.0 SAP EHP6  installation EX.

51041994                          SAP ERP 6.0 SAP EHP6 Upgrade Export

51041990                          SAP ERP 6.0 SAP EHP6 language

51041991                          BS7i2011 java components

51041992                          SAP EPR 6.0 EHP6  Components

I don’t want to  connect our system to solution manager and generate Stack.xml file

Because it will take month to release patches which in move  to export ( due to sap export  policy)

Please guide me we can upgrade EHP4 to EHP6 from above media

and what is the procedure to upgrade from EHP4 to EHP6

Hi,

If I understood your query correctly, you dont want to use solution manager to generate the stack xml for your ehp 4 to ehp6 upgrade. But there is no escape to the fact that stack xml is required for the tool.

as far as MOPz functioning is concerned, it calculates the stack xml based of your current stack and the target stack mentioned by you at initial phase and check the service market place for the latest stack available for your ehp (in your case its EHP6).

Please refer below mentioned note for the correct usage of tool:

now what can I do for next step I don't find and SUM for EHP6 How to upgrade EHP 4 to EHP6 from above media ?

I read a document that say's ECC6 existing system upgrade have 2 option through

SAP EHP installer and

SAP upgrade Manager

and also when I goto service side and choose ERP upgrade to EHP6 this show above media but how can I start installation from installer there is no SUM.

Please Guide

Hello,

You need to use the SUM tool.

You can download the SUM tool using the below steps:

http://service.sap.com/swdc/

  --> Support Packages & Patches  --> Browse Download Catalog --> Additional Components --> Upgrade Tools --> SL TOOLSET --> SL TOOLSET 1.0 --> Entry by Component --> Software Update Manager (SUM).

Hi Shahid,

You would need to update to EhP6 via the SUM tool. The SUM tool will update to EhP6 but to a particular Stack as selected. It is necessary to select a target stack in the SUM so as to maintain the equivalence levels. Hence you will need to connect the ECC system to a SolMan system and generate the relevant EhP6 Stack. Without this SUM will not proceed. Check the EhP6 Update guides available at http://service.sap.com/instguides -> ECC -> EhP6.

Regarding your point "Because it will take month to release patches which in move  to export ( due to sap export  policy)", I am not sure if I understood this correctly. The Solution manager will check the SMP for latest Stack available for EhP6 and give you an option to select it. If you want to select the latest patches which are not available in the stack but are required - you can still generate the relevant stack xml and later on in the SUM tool(SP Bind Phase) select the latest manually downloaded patches to be 'included' in the update.
