Goto Menu -> System -> Status and do a SHIFT+F5 then check the entries for -> SAP versions. You will get the release there.

Ex. 610, 620, 630, 640

Also the various settings that need to be taken care is;

you need to do the following:

In XI

SM59 - R3 connection pointing to R3

IDX1 - define the port with the above dest.

In R3

SM59 - R3 connection pointing to XI

WE21 - define the port with the above dest.

WE20 - Partner profile type Inbound -> for R3 to receive IDOCs

Is really port required (WE21) if SAP R/3 is receiver?

HI,

If you have no authorization to login inot R3 then It is better to get it from BASIS team,

Else ; logon to R3 and go to menu system - status -- component ...

you can use..

Or while selecting the Adapter itself you can see the version..

Hi Sumaya,

the idoc in R/3 has to be released in r/3 so it will have a release number like 620 or something......this value you will give in SAP release..

since idoc is input to SAP, then in R/3 you will create a port in WE21 for xi and then in WE20 , the Logical system of SAP you will add an inbound parameter for the idoc and then you will tell the processing code of this idoc.

in XI you will need a rfc conn in SM59 to SAP R/3 system which will be a conn of type 3.
