shared memory issue in st06 linux with db2

Dear Team,

We are facing a serious issue with shared memory......

If we check in st06 it shows that SAPOSCOL not running ? (shared memory not available )

When we execute command in sidadm or root as sapsocol -k or saposcol -l .. o/p gives a saposcol command not found...

If I check background job SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR it showing the job log SAPOSCOL not running (shared memory available).

Missing of coll.put and dev_coll in /usr/sap/tmp.

I checked in /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run there is no saposcol file....

Pls find the host_profile file for your reference...

I could not able to find that saposcol files in /usr/sap/KSM/SYS/exe/run

But in my dev server it  works fine.

Kernel version 702 with patch 114.

Have you upgraded kernel recently? to 720?

then you have to install saphostagent please check related notes for 720 kernel

Hello ,

The operating system collector SAPOsCol is a stand-alone program that runs in the operating system background. It runs independently of
SAPinstances exactly once per host.Saposcol is not Unicode-dependent, so it makes no difference to download it from Unicode or Non-unicode
directory on Service Market Place.The highest available saposcol version can always be used backwards.
SAPOSCOL should always be started with root permissions, to be able to
collect all the OS statistics (notes #19227 and #726094).

All CCMS agents can copy data from the SAPOSCOL shared memory segment to the CCMS monitoring segment and transfer it to a central

monitoring system. This means that the data is visible in the CCMS monitoring architecture and is displayed both in the familiar transactions ST06

and OS07 and in the Alert Monitor (transaction RZ20)

For all SAP kernel releases from 640 onwards, SAP recommends to use latest SAPOSCOL with Version 720.

You obtain this when you install the latest SAPHOSTAGENT package from SAP Service Marketplace as described in Note 1031096.

Hi Gopal,

You need to install saphostagent on your server.

Changes which occured.

From 720 kernel , saposcol is coming with saphostagent and you don't find saposcol in /sapmnt/SID/exe directory.

To install saphostagent you need to have root user access.

1.Download the patch for saphostagent 720 patch 121from service market place.

2.extract the SAR file using SAPCAR command in /tmp folder.

SAPCAR -xvf < saphostagent sar file name>

3.Now run the command

./saphostexec -install to install the saphostagent. during this process sapadm is created.

It will then create hostctrl directory in /usr/sap/.

May be environment problem.

You go to exe directoy and then execute ./sapsocol -k or ./saposcol -l  (saposcol directory)

I completed installation just now and it came up with kernel 720...I updated the latest patch.. in old patch level also it is not displayed any values.

Which version of host agent i want to install for 720 kernel....

Pls suggest me....

It is mandatory to install host agent .... what are the changes that i ll found after installation....
