Dear gurus,
We are using Ms window 2008 server with mscs cluster environment. From last few days node1 shutdown unexpectedly. some time database switch over to node2 automatically.
following event were generated at the time of shutdown.
account was logged off.
Subject:
Security ID: domainnam\SAPServicePRD
Account Name: SAPServicePRD
Account Domain: domainname
Logon ID: 0x74a517d
Logon Type: 3
This event is generated when a logon session is destroyed. It may be positively correlated with a logon event using the Logon ID value. Logon IDs are only unique between reboots on the same computer.
Please do needful.
Regards,
sahil

well ,
three times the same Screen Shot, just telling us some fragments of the cluster configuration.
But what I can see from it, you have all - or at least the most components in one cluster group which is not supported.
Please reinstall your system following the installation guide in detail.
Your current configuration is not supported by SAP.
I am pretty shure that the single cluster resources did not have the necessary dependencies defined correctly and therefore failover, online and offline resource requests will fail.
Normaly you have 4 cluster groups on a cluster where one SAP System is installed:
1. Cluster group
2. Available Storage
3. Oracle <SID> group
4. SAP <SID> group
While the first groups belong to the operating system specific stuff, the Oracle SID group does cover all resources belonging to the database, and the SAP SID group contains all resources belonging the the SAP ASCS/SCS group.
This configuration as well as startup/shutdown order of the components are well documented in the installation guide. Please refere the the chapters for more detailed information.
The SAP Resource group contains following resources:
PS> get-clusterresource | where ownergroup -eq "SAP XXL"
Name State OwnerGroup ResourceType
---- ----- ---------- ------------
SAP 1 Online SAP XXL Physical Disk
SAP XXL 00 Instance Online SAP XXL SAP Resource
SAP XXL 00 Service Online SAP XXL Generic Service
SAP XXL FileServer Online SAP XXL File Server
SAP XXL IP Online SAP XXL IP Address
SAP XXL NetName Online SAP XXL Network Name
The dependencies among the SAP group resources:
PS>get-clusterresource | where ownergroup -eq "SAP XXL" | Get-ClusterResourceDependency
Resource DependencyExpression
-------- --------------------
SAP 1
SAP XXL 00 Instance ([SAP XXL 00 Service])
SAP XXL 00 Service ([SAP XXL FileServer])
SAP XXL FileServer ([SAP 1]) and ([SAP XXL NetName])
SAP XXL IP
SAP XXL NetName ([SAP XXL IP])
The Oracle Group has following resources (this is a test-installation, productive installations will need more/much more physical disks for performance and security reasons):
PS> get-clusterresource | where ownergroup -eq "Oracle XXL"
Name State OwnerGroup ResourceType
---- ----- ---------- ------------
DB 1 Online Oracle XXL Physical Disk
IP Address 10.17.244.34 Online Oracle XXL IP Address
Network Name wsiv002223db1 Online Oracle XXL Network Name
OracleXXL11203TNSListenerF... Online Oracle XXL Oracle TNS Listener
XXL.WORLD Online Oracle XXL Oracle Database
the dependencies among the resources of the oracle group:
PS> get-clusterresource | where ownergroup -eq "Oracle XXL" | Get-ClusterResourceDependency
Resource DependencyExpression
-------- --------------------
DB 1
IP Address 10.17.244.34
Network Name wsiv002223db1 ([IP Address 10.17.244.34])
OracleXXL11203TNSListenerFslwsiv002223db1 ([Network Name wsiv002223db1])
XXL.WORLD ([IP Address 10.17.244.34]) and ([DB 1])
Please also have a look at the components Oracle is using.
Oracle datafiles must not reside on the disk belonging to the SAP Group!
Starting/Stopping/Moving of Cluster Components is described in chapter 8.6 of the installation guide.
kind regards
Peter
Hi Sahil,
Could you share some logs from cluster

Cluster resource 'SAP PRD FileServer' in clustered service or application 'ORACLEPRD' failed.
The Cluster service failed to bring clustered service or application 'ORACLEPRD' completely online or offline. One or more resources may be in a failed state. This may impact the availability of the clustered service or application.
The SAPPRD_00 service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified.
Please configure and install the SAP compontents on a Windows Failover Cluster as documented in the installatin guide!
SAP components are configured in a different group than all Oracle databse components.
The SAP PRD FileServer resource is normaly configured in the SAP PRD Cluster group and never in the Oracle PRD cluster group (cluster groups are name "Service or Applications" in the failover cluster manager).
I assume that you tried to merge the resources of both cluster groups into one cluster group and destroyed existing resource dependencies which are necessary to startup the resource in the right order.
kind regards
Peter
