GRC 10-EAM (FF): Controlling the frequency of email for the controller

Hello Experts,

I have customized the system so that the FF Controller receives Email notification upon login.

all is working well, but...

Now I would like to customize so that the controller will receive an Email every day, only once a day.

Please help me define the configurations and whatever else I need to do.

Hi Michal,

Are you taking about the Firefighter Login notification which the controller recieves when the FF logs in to the plugin system or are you referring to the Fire fighter log review notification ?

The FF login notification will be sent everytime the FF logs into the plugin system.

I was referring to the FF log review notification.

I know that it is possible to recieve a daily email and not one every time that the FFID logs.

Hi Michal,

You can schedule the background job to run daily once with a specified variant which takes into account the period from the last run job, supposedly 24 hours.

Default period is one hour, so if you schedule job daily, it will collect only last one hour data.

how do i set that 24H variant?

do i need to configure the parameters 4002+4007 to NO?

Hi Michal,

The parameters should be set to yes.

Variant is created using SE38. Ask an ABAPER, he should be able to help you.

The default value I said above, is true for AC 5.3, but I am not sure if in AC10, job GRAC_SPM_LOG_SYNC_UPDATE has same period by default. You may try one test. Cancel the job and run the same job daily. During the job run, you may perform firefighter activities and see if it is capturing all data after last job run.

Hi,

we have tried to run the GRAC_SPM_LOG_SYNC_UPDATE every day, but we haven't received all the info and it didn't effect the timing of the mail.

I have reactivated the log as an hourly job, so that the info will be collected.

I know that I need another job,an extra one, in order to send that log to the controller.

do you know what is this job? or do I need to use the help of a programmer?

Hi Michal,

There is a blog on scn which states that in GRC 10, only on job is required to send the login notification and the log notification.

I could not find how to change the variant, but it seems it takes default one hour which means it will collect last one hour activities and will not take into account of the time stamp of last job run.

You may ask an ABAPER or SAP directly about this.

Hi Sabita,

i was just told by SAP that its not possible to do so,

and that i need a programmer to make such changes in the aplication.

Hi Sabita & Michal,

I am facing similar kind of issue, We are in SP 13 in GRC 10 system and we have implemented Decentralized firefighting. Issue is we do not get Firefighter Log notification email to the controllers in decentralized firefighting.  Below are the details. Please help.

- Configuration parameters are 4002 to 4009 is set to YES

- Configuration for Plugin system is maintained as below.

1000 0 GRC_CONNECTOR Please maintain Plug-in Connector

4000 0 1 Application type

4001 0 365 Default Firefighter Validity Period (Days)

4008 0 YES Send FirefightId Login Notification

4010 0 SAP_GRAC_SPM_FFID Firefighter ID role name

- In SLG1, for every SPM Log sync job, there are 4 internal activities

as below

- ACT_SYNC/

- EAM_SYNC/

- LOG_SYNC/

- Workflow/

- When all the above four internal activities are run we get the log

email, but this is not happening all times. Most of the times the

ACT_SYNC/ activity is missing in SLG1

- Have tried to schedule the GRAC_SPM_LOG_SYNC job even every minute,

most times we do NOT get the emails. Very few times we get the log

email.

- Sometimes when we get the log email, we get it even before the

Firefighter ID session is closed.

- When we get the log email, the log details does NOT have all details

like table name, old data, new data etc.

- We have no problems in getting the login notification email

- Have tried to make the parameter 4009 to NO and run the SPM workflow

sync, even then we did not get the log email.

- We get the log email when we do firefighting via centralized FF.

- and finally the firefighter login notification has date and time details 6 hours earlier. I have found a note( 1661882) in this regard, however this is been fixed in SP 08, and we are now in SP13.

@ Sabita - I saw you faced similar kind of issue in the below link created by Diego. I didnt have an answer of what fix your issue. Could you please help me.
