Error during installation of SAP Solution Manager 7.1

Dear All,

I am getting error during installation of SAP Solution Manager 7.1 on Windows 2003, x64. Database is Oracle 11g.

Hi Nirav,

Can you check the virtual memory you have set as pre-requisites for the installation.

Please check the below note on recommendation for setting virtual memory. Download the attached pdf file to get the virtual memory size.

It should be around 35 GB.

You are correct. I have increase the Pagesize. Now problem solved.

Hi Nirav,

  Seeing the logs, it seems that start of JAVA is getting failed.

Please stop the instances running and try to restart the system and check whether you are able to start both ABAP + JAVA . If  both ABAP & JAVA is not coming up, please paste dev_jcontrol, dev_server0, std.server0.out logs in the work directory.

Please also confirm whether ABAP is running or not.

I have tried after restarting server. Problem remain same.

Hi Nirav,

Please confirm whether you are using SAPJVM 4.1

If yes, please apply the SAP Note 1603093 - SAP JVM 4.1 parameters.

Then try to restart the java . Is ABAP up and running??

I have applied this note and fixed few startup issues. Please apply and let us know whether you are facing the issue again..

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THE PARAMETERS. CASE SENSTITIVES AND SPACES.

Please upload the logs if you are facing the issue again.

ABAP Instance is running.

I am first time installing java instance.

Will you pl. guide me where I have to mention this parameter as per sap note ?

Which version of Java is required for SAP Solution Manager 7.1?

Hi,

   Please confirm what is the java version you are using?

Is it SAPJVM4.1 or IBM JDK ???

You need to add the parameters in the config tool in /usr/sap/<SID>/DV*/j2ee/configtool/configtool.bat
