Hi, I'm new to SAP and I'm trying to practice scenarios in SAP PI. I created an account in esworkplace.sap.com for that and an account got created.
After that, I logged into the account that was provided to me and I came across integration engine web gui page where I typed the transaction SXMB_IFR to practice ESR and ID. But everytime I try to login, I get this error message-
"Unable to connect to server P4://pi.esworkplace.sap.com:50004. Check server availability"
And when I click on details, this is what I get-
"
Cannot establish connection with any of the available
profiles:
url=P4://pi.esworkplace.sap.com:50004
protocol=p4 (None); Reason: com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.P4IOException:
Cannot open connection to host: 155.56.56.170 and port:
50004
Check if server is started, access point for
the protocol is available, and IP/Host name is accessible
on network."
Kindly help me with this issue. I have been trying to practice SAP PI for more than a month and yet I have gone nowhere because of this.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. if I'm asked this question in wrong section, then please forgive me.
Hi ,
Did you added host name and IP address of the server that want to access in drivers/etc/hosts file ?
If no could you please add that first and try hitting the tcode SXMB_ADM/ http://hostname:5nr00/dir/start/index.jsp

Hi Ajeya,
There are two ways you will access generally.
1)By using CITRIX or any s/w and accessing via secured connection no need to add above details in your local system.
2)In general for accessing PI server/ java stack you need to add above details in your local system .
(start-->run-->drivers/etc/hosts file)

Venkat
I did as you said. But it still gives error-
"
Cannot establish connection with any of the available
profiles:
url=P4://pi.esworkplace.sap.com:50004
protocol=p4 (None); Reason: com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.P4IOException:
Cannot open connection to host: 155.56.56.170 and port:
50004
Check if server is started, access point for
the protocol is available, and IP/Host name is accessible
on network."
What shall I do now?
oh did u give the ip address as an example ?
I have taken IP and Hostname from your error.
1)Check with the respective sap folks who are administering the server .
2)Check whether you are authorized to use that or not ?
3)Check whether do you need to download any certificates for that etc ..by sending the screen shot of the error you faced .They will guide you ?
