I am very much new to xMII.

Anybody please tell me

1) what is xMII?

2) What is the future of xMII?

3) What does xMII consists?

4) Is there any Coding done over here?

5) How popular it is in market and its trend?

Hi Adarsh,

1. In simple words, SAP xMII connects the Plant with the rest of the Enterprise.

2. For future of xMII, check this link:

3. xMII mainly consists of Query Templates, Display Template, BLS editor(to create the logic) and few other graphical tools.

4. there is not much coding in xMII, but knowledge of Java, javascript, HTML, XML & SQL helps.

5. xMII is one of the most popular xApps, upcoming version is xMII 12.0

The future is very bright. xMII is being leveraged by hundreds of SAP customers and tens of thousands of users globally, and its growth continues to accelerate. Also, inside of SAP, we are discovering a number of other potential applications for the core xMII technology in both manufacturing and non-manufacturing areas.

4) Is there any Coding done over here?

Yes, in Bangalore.

5) How popular it is in market and its trend?

xMII had an unbelievable year in 2006. It exceeded our wildest sales expectations, and by some estimates sold more new licenses than any other MES or manufacturing intelligence solution on the market. I am not at liberty to provide specifics due to SAP policies, but suffice to say that we are very, very happy with xMII sales.

Also, I am guessing you are asking the "future of xMII" questions from a consulting point of view. I can tell you that SAP has been training many consultants through the SAP Education class ( which is now listed as <b>TZMII1 and TZMII2</b> on the Education site...not WNALH<i>1/2</i> )...Popularity amongst the industry is widespread throughout the world and only growing larger.

1. SAP Training on xMII (WNALH1 and WNALH2)

My question meant that, Is xMII all about configuration, customizing or is there any thing where in I can use any kind of programming language for coding stuff.

Hi Adarsh,

In xMII , we need not code much.As it is being used to transfer Information

from ERP to Shop floor ,core work is mapping.I would say it is more like a

visual tool where we create logic through Logic Editor .

Although nowing javascript would be an advantange.
