We have ECC 6.0 and EP on separates servers in our landscape.
We are installing ECC 6.0 (2004S). Question is whether we need to choose XSS component or not for ECC 6.0 instance. XSS (ESS & MSS) is dependent on EP. When we choose XSS component, it forces us to choose all EP components (EP, EP Core, Business Package for ERP etc).
XSS (ESS & MSS) is a front end (written in WebDynpros for Java) portal application. I am thinking we should choose XSS component while installing EP system only. In my opinion, XSS component is not required for ECC 6.0 because it is only a front end application and no data resides with it.
Do you see any need for XSS component with ECC 6.0installation (as plug in to work with EP). Pls. confirm that we do not need to choose XSS component while installing ECC 6.0.
