Sorry actually its from 7.1 SP7 to 7.2 SP4 and DB is MS SQL Server 2005.

I think Ian is moving in the right direction. Couple of things that I can think of to check.
1. Check the log from the update. Did it complete correctly? It's in the path you referenced in your screen shot.
2. Check the JDBC settings in the MMC. Do you have everything set correctly? Do you have the correct driver?
3. Check the JDBC connection string. Do you have the correct password for the rt user? Does the user match the schema? I see you used mxmc-xupdate and specified mxmc. My suggestion would just be to use plain old mxmc-update.

I assume you are doing an upgrade? From what SP to what SP?
Also what database?
