Itemfield is the company that came up with Conversion agent. Conversion agent is used to create complex structures that cannot be done via standard functionality of the file adapter. Also it eases the way mapping is done.

Items field is a tool..It is something like EDI Covertor.In XI we do not have Item field in XI.
