In the versions earlier to PI 7.1 .....Java and ABAP (HTTP) port were different....but in PI7.3 both are same then how will ICM identify whether the request should go to ABAP or the JAVA port ??
For PI 7.1 Dual Stack, HTTP port for ABAP system used to be of type H and non ABAP system of type G in SM59. If you are working with PI 7.3 Dual Stack, everything would be same. But for PI 7.3 Single Stack, the connection definitions are stored in Java Stack and it does not matter whether external system is ABAP / Java. Please find the below blog to check the configurations:
