What are the pre-requisites for setting up SUP and HANA

I want to know the prequreisites to set up SUP and HANA. Also if any can guide me towards the architecture of setting up HANA and SUP, it would be a great help

Hi Jatinder,

I can help you here with SUP part. I didn't get by pre-requisites but all the required pre-requisites will be installed by SUP server installer itself.

You can also plan to setup relay server (IN DMZ Network) to protect your SUP server (In your corporate network). Using relay server you will be able to access your SUP server from internet.

Please let me know what other queries you have on SUP side.

I would like to know how we can connect SUP and HANA.

If there is specific steps that we need to perform or if there is any configuration settings that is required.

As u said their is no prerequisites i still assume the following:-

HANA 1.00.27 Server 64 bit

Sybase 2.1.0 64 bit

Client Side

HANA Studio Version 31 32bit

Sybase Workspace 2.1 32 bit

Hi Jatinder,

You are correct you definately need softwares to do so.

You can setup JDBC connection from Sybase Workspace to HANA. http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/topic/com.sybase.infocenter.dc01611.0511/doc/html/skh1297175348250... will help you with the configuration side.

Hi Jatindar,

You can try connecting HANA and SUP  through REST resvices.

HANA XS Engine(REST Services)>> SUP-ODP>> Relay>>Device in internet.

Using HANA XS engine, you can expose REST services. http://www.saphana.com/message/2684#2684

Using SUP-ODP you can develop mobile applications which can consume these REST services.

SUP-ODP: supports user onboarding and monitoring.

Relay: Acts as reverse proxy to connect to SUP server from internet.

I am not sure if HANA supports SSO with SUP. However basic authentication (user/password) should be possible
