Hi all
We use Hana studio(1.0.35) Monitor the HANA System(sps04).
There are some bars to show the cpu, memory and disks status and change color(green, yellow, and red) based on configurable check thresholds.
Please tell me How to change the configurable check thresholds.
I want to know where are the files set the configurable check thresholds.
On the Overview (tab)
Database Memory and CPU
1.Database Memory and CPU:Memory Used/Allocation Limit(GB)
2.Database Memory and CPU:CPU Usage(%)
3.All Disks Containing Data Files :Data Volume Size/Disk Size(GB)
4.Disk with Highest Usage(on host):Data Volume Size/Disk Size(GB)
5.All Disks Containing log Files:Log Volume Size/Disk Size(GB)
6.Disk with Highest Usage:Log Volume Size/Disk Size(GB)
7.Disk with Highest Usage:Trace Files/Disk Size(GB)
Host(s)
8.Memory and CPU:Physical Memory Used/Available(GB)
9.Memory and CPU:Virtual Memory Used/Available(GB)
10.Memory and CPU:CPU Usage(GB)
11.All Disks Containing Data Files :Disk Containing Data:Used/Total Size(GB)
12.Disk with highest Usage(on Host tyosc052):Disk Containing Data:Used/Total Size(GB)
13.All Disks Containing Log Files :Disk Containing Data:Used/Total Size(GB)
14.Disk with highest Usage(on Host tyosc052):Disk Containing Log:Used/Total Size(GB)
15.Disk with highest Usage(on Host tyosc052):Disk Containing Trace:Used/Total Size(GB)
On the Landscape(tab)
1.CPU
2.Memory
Thanks in advance!
Akihiro
Akihiro,
Any configurable parameter can be modified from HANA Studio using Configuration tab.
In this Configuration tab, we have various .ini files using which you can perform the required change.
Excerpt from SAP documentation:
Parameter management for the database is done via INI files. The existing INI files and all set parameters are listed on the configuration tab page. Editing parameters is possible as well as adding sections and new parameters to an existing INI file.
Hope this is what you are looking for.

Hi Lars
Thanks for your imformation.
We check the Alert configuration tab.
But did not find the thresholds in the list below.
Overview tab
1.Database Memory and CPU:CPU Usage(%)
2.All Disks Containing Data Files :Data Volume Size/Disk Size(GB)
3.Disk with Highest Usage(on Host tysocxxx):Data Volume Size/Disk Size(GB)
4.All Disks Containing log Files:Log Volume Size/Disk Size(GB)
5.Disk with Highest Usage Log Volume Size/Disk Size(GB)
6.Memory and CPU:Virtual Memory Used/Available(GB)
7.Disk with highest Usage(on Host tyoscxxx):Disk Containing Data:Used/Total Size(GB)
8.All Disks Containing Log Files :Disk Containing Data:Used/Total Size(GB)
9.Disk with highest Usage(on Host tyoscxxx):Disk Containing Log:Used/Total Size(GB)
10.Disk with highest Usage(on Host tyoscxxx):Disk Containing Trace:Used/Total Size(GB)
We found your threshold is more than the threshold number of our system.
thanks in advance.
Best Regards.
Akihiro
Akihiro,
the mentioned "threshold" are in fact actual limits of the underlying hardware.
The overview tab shows hints on when those limits are about to be reached.
This is not to be confused with the alert-setup for the statistics server.
Both are two different things.
The overview tab can't be specifically configured. It's designed to be a quick and easy impression of the state of the instance.
About your last sentence:
"We found your threshold is more than the threshold number of our system."
I've no idea what you mean by that Can you rephrase that, please?

Hi Lars
Thank you for your polite explanation
We want to monitoring the hana database with SAP HANA Studio.
and want to use the overview tab to check the cup, memory, disk satuation.
At the tab Alert -> Configure Check Thresholds.
We found any "threshold" we need.
But we did not find all of the "threshold" about the cup, memory, disk.
Example:
All Disks Containing log Files:Log Volume Size/Disk Size(GB)
thanks in advace.
Best Regards.
Akihiro
Well if any of the bars turn red you're supposed to investigate and figure out what this is about.
That's all.
The overview tab is just that: a rough overview.
e.g. for CPU consumption it could easily be that you refresh the display and the high CPU consumption is gone and there's no reason to do anything at all.
Up to my knowledge, these bars are not configurable in any way.
