Hi All,
We have created a BP with his US Address including 5 digit Postal code number and saved. We have pushed this BP to R3 by adding the BP role "Sold to Party" before creating a sales order but While creating Sales Order from CRM we are getting Error "postal code must have length 5 or 10" and system is not letting us to save the CRM Sales Order.
As per the Note 707113 i have checked the settings in my system and the value 0 is already maintained.
In transaction SE11. Enter 'PR005' as a domain. Press 'Change'. Go to the Value Range tab page. Insert the new fixed value: '0', short description: 'Deactivation of postal code check for USA.'. Save and activate the change
Why system is throwing this error while creating a sales order why not during the creating of BP?
Some one please help me in resolving this issue.
Best Regards,
Arun
Hi Arun,
for the above issue, for the country US, check the settings for the postal code length and it should be 10.
Path: Spro-->SAP Netweaver-->Genral settings-->Set Countryies-->Set Country-Specific Checks
select the country US and under the formal checks verify the postal code length.
set it to 10, problem will resolve.

Kumar

Hi
Please press F1 on the rule field. It says
Indicator that determines how the Postal code field check is to be carried out.
Defined checks are triggered using Key 1 to 8. The numeric entry, the length of the entry, and any gaps in the entry are checked.
A special country-specific check is activated using Key 9. The entry is checked against a template defined in the system. Templates are currently defined for Canada, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, South Korea, and Portugal.
The following templates are implemented (A = letter, N = digit):
Canada: ANA NAN
The Netherlands: NNNN AA
Poland: NN-NNN
Sweden
Slovakia
The Czech Rep.: NNN NN
South Korea: NNN-NNN
Portugal: NNNN-NNN or NNNN
In the case of Portugal, the templates NNNN (old form) and NNNN-NNN (after the postal code reform) are used for the transition if check rule '9' is set.
USA: The system checks, independently of check rule '9', whether the postal code for an address in the USA satisfies the format NNNNN-NNNN or NNNNN.

Ramesh

Dear Willie,
We tried debugging FM ADDR_POSTAL_CODE_CHECK , while creating Customer FM ADDR_POSTAL_CODE_CHECK is checked but while saving salesorder FM ADDR_POSTAL_CODE_CHECK is not checked and hence it do not enter the FM in debug mode.
Error Message is 'postal code must have length 5 or 10' and msg no class 'AM' no
218 and class 'AR' 008.
Thanks,
Arun.
