Hi Anupam,

Blogs are helpful to understand REST services. But as per my scenario, SAP ---> PI----> Portal ( using REST, not SOAP). I had a less idea about java mapping. And purchasing a Advantco adapter will add up to licenecing cost. So my point is to put a feasible solution to client If we can go ahead with REST services without any issues

Hi Kanisha,

               As explained in threads you can go for ABAP coding to communicate with REST sebservice without involving SAP PI.

Thus the scenario becomes SAP<----->Portal.

In case you need PI in middle then procuring Advantco's REST adapter is the best option.

Advantco's REST adapter does not have a huge licencing cost.You can enquire the cost before proposing solution to business. The good point of having Advantco is the fact that once this is done it will be easier and cheaper to maintain the integration scenario in future. If you go for java based solution (proxy or mapping) then you need to be careful to avoid hardcoding of IP address , port number in the code.  In future maintainance of such interface would require java expertise which might increase project cost.

As replied by Anupam Ghosh, please have a look at the Rest Adapter by Advantco.
