I am having IA64 machine with windows server 2008 r2. As from SAP notes, I understand that on 2008 R2, Oracle 10.2.0.4 is to be installed directly. I have downloaded Oracle_RDBMS_51036975 DVD which supports X64 environment, but not IA64 environment.
Can anyone guide me where I will get to install 10.2.0.4 on IA64 platform for Windows 2008r2.
Thanks
Vikas
Hello Vikas,
Can you try downloading 51031678_1 (ORACLE RDBMS 10.2 Windows 1 of 5 ) and it's subsequent files.

Hi Kishore / Vikas,
If you see the PAM , it seems that oracle 10.2.0.4 is not available windows IA64 systems.
Please see the PAM details for Oracle 10.2.

As well as per the note Note 1303262 - Oracle on Windows Server 2008 , you can see that you cant install 10,2..01 and patch to 10.2.0.4. And as per the above DVDS 1 to 5 seems to of oracle version 10.2.0.1 ( PLS CHECK ONCE AGAIN). If yes, you cant use that DVD.
You can try to do the oracle universall installer patch and try again. Make sure that your IE is greater than 7.0 Version as well as recommended Hot Fixes are applied.
Please check the note Note 986578 - Oracle support in Itanium 2 systems (Montecito & following) again . Please do it step by step.

Hi Vikas,
I think you have to install 10.2 initially after that you have to apply the patch 10.2.0.4.

Hi Kishore,
But these DVD's are not supporting Windows 2008 SR2 IA64 platform, they work fine for 2003 IA64. What so far I have tried is to install using SAP Note - 0000986578 for IA64 platform. And Java version installed is (build 1.4.2_18-b06, mixed mode). After starting installation as per note, after running sapIA64jdk.cmd, OUI starts and gives error " Abnormal program termination. An internal error has occured. Please provide the following files to Oracle Support:

Any idea, is it that I am using wrong installer or missing some process.
Thanks
Vikas
