Hello
Does anyone knows some blog about installing Oracle 11.2
software. I found note 1524205, As I understand first I have to run
./RUNINSTALLER (after ./RUNINSTALLER_CHECK) which I get in stage extracted from
media.
However e.g. I do not understand procedure of Relinking the
Oracle Software (how to perform that/ is it needed for a fresh installation).
Also it is not clear to me in note 1631931 about SBP. Namely
it is mentioned there patches has to be applied after patchset(does patchsets
egsists in 11.2?).
Thank you a lot
Hi Jan,
The note #1524205 has explained the steps pretty good. You should start with "4.1 For a New Installation" for the fresh installation.
>> However e.g. I do not understand procedure of Relinking the

You don't need to relink the executable, after fresh installation. However you can perorm the relink by "relink all" command at the OS level

Latest patches does not exist by fresh Oracle 11g installation. To upgrade 11.2.0.3.4, you should apply the latest SBP. Search for the string "SAP Bundle Patches 11.2.0.3 for Unix Platforms released for SAP" in the note# 1631931

With note #1524205 comes 11ginstall-11203-039-complete.zip Does anyone knows?
I am 99% sure I should izip this into /oracle/stage/112_64/database.
Than I should run ./RUNINSTALLER from /oracle/stage/112_64/database (with an x-sw)
Within this installation "/oracle/<SID>/11203" should be the right "Software location" adn "/oracle" the right "oracle base"(actualy all parameters within ./RUNINSTALLER are ok if default / for a simplecentral system beeing installed from scratch)
Than about SBP I am very cautious especially in terms of how to set IHRDBMS and OHRDBMS, right Mopatch and Opatch and finally how to install SBP
(is command :
env ORACLE_HOME=$IHRDBMS $IHRDBMS/MOPatch/mopatch.sh -v -s SAP_112034_201212_HPUXIA64.zip
correct?)
Thank you enourmously in advance

This is Oracle Installer Patch which is added into the SAP DVD as noted in the note #1524205. Please find the installation steps in the same note and search for "Installing a newer SAP RUNINSTALLER version" title.
>> env ORACLE_HOME=$IHRDBMS
>> $IHRDBMS/MOPatch/mopatch.sh -v -s SAP_112034_201212_HPUXIA64.zip
Yes, is it correct. "IHRDBMS" is required for "out-of-place" patch installations. So, you can upgrade the database while it is still running.
Another approach has been mentioned in the Note 1027012 - MOPatch - Install Multiple Oracle Patches in One Run and search for "4. Executing MOPatch in Documentation Mode to Generate Documentation" title.
Happy new year and best regards,

First of all, did you upgraded the database to 11.2.0.3 respectively? If not, you are not able to apply the SAP_112034_201212_HPUXIA64 patch on the system.
Secondly, as you know that this is a bundle patch and mopatch apply the patches, one by one. It is open than since the first patch couldn't be applied successfully, successor patches couldn't be applied. At this stage, try to find error log in the trace file. If you can't find the trace file, extract the patch bundle file (SAP_112034_201212_HPUXIA64.zip) into a working directory and try to apply "14275605" manually. Then, you will be able to see the error while applying to patch.
After you identify the error and fix the error at the first patch, the system will be able to continue the patching process.
Best regards,
Orkun Gedik
>> By the way where do I have to place Mopatch and Opatch 11ginstall-11203-039-complete.zip
Opatch and mopatch folders have been located under "$ORACLE_HOME" folder. At this stage, you don't need to install latest RUNINSTALLER patch. Because mopatch or opatch does not use RUNINSTALLER during the patching process.
Best regards,
Orkun Gedik
