Plant as mandatory input in stock information data of serial number with AVLB status

Hi Guys,

When I create a serail number for a materail using IQ01, in the stock information data of serial number, plant field is made as mandatory.

Now if I enter the plant, it is gives an error message "stock control active as per serial number profile". I know that this error message is correct. But the net effect (making plant field as mandatory) I am not able to create a serial number.

But I am able to create a serial number with IQ04.

But when I go into change mode of a serail number created using IQ02, once again plant field is mandatory & I cannot change the serail number.

Now my question to you is, Making plant field as mandatory while creating or changing a serial number with status AVLB-Can this is be acheived through any configuration?

As per my understanding this cannot be acheived through any configuration. But can be acheived through an exit.

Hi Guys!

This issue is resolved.

Actually Plant field is made mandatory in" Define Field Selection for the Equipment Master Record->Field Selection for Equipment-Specific Fields"

Hence this issue is observed.

You can change plant in iq02. provided the material should be extended in different plant.

You can not change sr. No as it is unique.
