Can anybody explain me the steps for refurbishment process with serial numbers?
How is automatic serial number assignment done?
Also what is synchronization of serial number and equipment number and how it is done?
Also what is synchronization of material and construction type?
Hi Yogesh,
Thank you for the information provided.
While defining the serial number profile, if I check on existing serial number not required,
than why don't we check the serial number usage as 04 and instead use 03.
Also, if the put the equipment reqm usage to 01, than during automatic creation of serial numbers, equipment numbers won't be created in the background.
Later on how can we create master records for equipment from the serial numbers generated automatically.

Serial Number Usage 03 - Makes Serial number compulsory but not automatic. User has to enter manually.
Serial Number Usage 04 - Makes Serial Number automatic. Here Exist Check is not required as the serial number is generation is automatic.
If you use Serial Number Usage as 01 & Exist Check is not selected, no equipment will be created. You can create serial number for the material manually in IQ01, there you can activate the equipment creation. It requires manual effort to create serial number as well as equipment.
